Named after the Vulcan philosopher who brought logic and peace to his war-torn world, this award honors those who choose words over weapons.

Philosophy of Peace

Established in 2285 following the Khitomer Accords, the Surak Commendation embodies the principle that lasting peace requires greater courage than war. It celebrates diplomatic victories that prevent conflicts and forge lasting alliances across the galaxy.
