Core Purpose

Admission Requirements

Worlds seeking Federation membership must demonstrate:

  • Unified planetary government
  • No caste-based discrimination
  • Dedication to peaceful coexistence
  • Warp capability or equivalent technology
  • Commitment to mutual defense and aid

Member Rights

All Federation members are entitled to:

  • Representation in the Federation Council
  • Protection by Starfleet forces
  • Access to shared technology and knowledge
  • Trade agreements with other member worlds
  • Cultural and religious freedom
  • Territorial sovereignty within Federation space

Member Obligations

Member worlds must:

  • Contribute resources to Starfleet operations
  • Abide by Federation law and treaties
  • Provide aid to other members in crisis
  • Share scientific and cultural knowledge
  • Respect the rights of all sentient beings

Neutral Zone Protocols

Federation members must respect established neutral zones with non-aligned powers. Entry into neutral zones requires explicit authorization from Starfleet Command and may constitute an act of war.

Diplomatic Immunity

Accredited ambassadors and diplomatic personnel from member worlds enjoy full diplomatic immunity within Federation space, subject to recall by their governments for violations of interstellar law.
